Venture Capital News: eCare Vault Snares Investment

2019-02-08
BOSTON, MA, eCare Vault has closed an investment from EduLab Capital Partners.
EduLab Capital Partners, a seed-stage venture capital firm, today announced an investment in eCare Vault to grow its privacy-compliant and seamless care team collaboration platform. Boston-based eCare Vault is the first investment for EduLab Capital Partners, which was launched in late 2018 with an exclusive focus on the education market. EduLab Capital Partners' domain-specific expertise, global partnerships and distribution networks will help companies like eCare Vault to accelerate their product impact in the market.

eCare Vault provides a privacy-compliant document management, care team collaboration, and service tracking platform for Special Education and Healthcare. By building a care team around every student and enabling seamless information exchange in a privacy-compliant manner, eCare Vault drives operational efficiencies, transparency, and accountability in special education. The platform optimizes student learning and health outcomes, while reducing the risk of litigation and enhancing Medicaid revenues for school districts.

"eCare Vault is at a very compelling intersection of the traditional education and healthcare markets," said Liam Pisano, Managing Partner at EduLab Capital Partners. "We believe they are positioned to cut across these two growing markets with a product that aligns educators and caregivers on the best outcomes for each student. We're thrilled to contribute to the eCare Vault story and help support a solution to a significant market need."

As the only seed-stage venture capital firm exclusively focused on the education market, EduLab Capital Partners leverages deep education industry experience to help its portfolio companies quickly establish broad distribution, integration and implementation.

"Our team understands the challenges of simultaneously running an early-stage company while rapidly scaling the operations," Pisano continued. "We surround our portfolio companies with the functional expertise, industry experience and partnership networks that enable them to scale faster and extend their reach in the market father."

EduLab Capital Partners chose to locate its new U.S. headquarters in Boston, one of the major hubs of the educational technology industry. The company plans an active role in the Boston startup community, partnering with universities, entrepreneurs and local visionaries, and connecting them with EduLab Capital Partners' global network of innovators.

"We are thrilled to be part of the Edulab Capital Partners family," said Dr. Aparna Rao, founder and CEO of eCare Vault. "Their extensive network has already begun opening a gateway of opportunities for eCare Vault. The expertise of their team will be tremendously valuable as we build eCare Vault 2.0, leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence for administration dashboards to inform resource planning and analytics around Special Education services."
