Venture Capital News: MeQ Announces $2M Series A Round

2016-08-24
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Today, MeQ Inc. (d.b.a. Even) announced that it has raised $2 million in Series A funding.
The round will accelerate the growth of the Even brand and its products which feature patent-pending EarPrint technology that delivers a breakthrough, fully-personalized listening experience. This round of funding is led by Firstime Venture Capital, a venture capital fund that invests in digital and new media ventures, and will support Even's product research, product development and marketing initiatives.

Even is leading a new era in personalized sound. In a world where no two ears hear quite the same way, today's personal audio products do not take these differences into account. Founded in 2014 by Danny Aronson and Ofer Raz, Even creates the ultimate listening experience through a combination of technology, sound, music and product expertise. The company's mission is to make personalized listening as broadly accessible and as affordable as possible.

'Even's EarPrint technology challenges the two basic precepts of personalized audio -- that we all hear the same way and that we all have perfect hearing,' said Danny Aronson, CEO and co-founder of Even. 'This round of funding allows us to continue to lead the way for personalized sound and create new products that can have a very positive impact on the ears and lives of more and more people.'

With this round of funding, MeQ is also adding two new board members. Joining MeQ's board of directors and serving as board chairman is Ilan Shiloah, managing partner of Firstime, chairman of McCann Erickson Tel Aviv and executive board member of McCann Erickson Europe. In addition, Michael Potter, board member of Blue Nile and Niagara Bottling, former board member of Zulily, and former CEO and Chairman of Big Lots, joins MeQ's board.
