Venture Capital News: Voxeet Receives $1.5M Seed Round

2014-01-28
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Startup that delivers crisp and clear conferencing services that are unparalleled in audio quality for business, today announced it has received $1.5 million in seed-round funding.
Voxeet Inc., the startup that delivers crisp and clear conferencing services that are unparalleled in audio quality for business, today announced it has received $1.5 million in seed-round funding.

The new funding will be used to expand the breadth of Voxeet's operations, product development and marketing, said CEO and founder Stephane Giraudie. Voxeet works on any device, anywhere, but has been developed for use by business people on the go with mobile devices. Voxeet currently markets its services primarily in the United States and Europe.

Giraudie said the funding came from lead investor Partech Ventures, with participation by Aquiti, Kima Ventures and business angels with smaller investments, including the forward-looking French investors Oleg Tscheltzoff of Fotolia and Jacques-Antoine Granjon of Vente-privee.com.

'We're gratified that these investors share our vision that there is still a lot of room for innovation in audio conferencing,' said Giraudie. 'People who use Voxeet tell us that our simplified approach of click and connect, combined with unsurpassed audio quality, are things they have long yearned for after straining to hear and understand participants in conference calls on services from other providers.'

Romain Lavault, VC Partner at Partech Ventures, said: 'We have seen in Voxeet a huge potential of disruption of the conference call market, which hasn't evolved much in the last 20 years. Businesses worldwide can now take immediate benefits from Voxeet's advanced sound processing and a unique distributed cloud infrastructure that revolutionizes the entire meeting experience. Voxeet takes the entire industry in a leap forward, much like what Skype did in 2003 to the traditional calling market.'

Founded in 2009 and launched in April 2012 at DEMO, Voxeet distinguishes itself from other voice-conferencing services by offering innovative, highest-quality audio conferencing. It targets the largest segment of the business communications market: small to mid-sized companies that want better, more productive audio conferencing at affordable pricing.

The company calls its audio quality 'immersive 3D' because it specializes in high-definition audio and sound algorithms that reduce background noise and echo eliminate talk-over and boost sound quality for exceptionally clear sound. Participants in Voxeet meetings experience crisp, clear voice quality and exceptional sound allowing for more relaxed and productive conversations. In addition to the pristine sound, Voxeet achieves accurate speaker identification with visual cues at the app's dashboard that offers a clean and simplified user experience.

Built upon the premise of seamless mobility, Voxeet enables users to simply click to connect to join calls, as well as to transfer calls from a PC, laptop or tablet to a mobile phone with a single click, ending the need to hang up and redial when on the go.

The Voxeet app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google PLAY, and is also available for Windows PCs through the Voxeet website. The app accommodates up to eight participants during a conference call.
