BOISE, IDAHO, Prosperity Organic Foods announced it has successfully closed its third round of financing, securing the funds needed to expand distribution of its debut product line, Rich & Creamy Melt Organic buttery spreads.
Today Prosperity Organic Foods, Inc. announced it has successfully closed its third round of financing, securing the funds needed to expand distribution of its debut product line, Rich & Creamy Melt Organic buttery spreads, to new accounts nationally. The round was led by angel investors from the Boise Angel Alliance, Frontier Angel Fund and the Sun Valley area.

"The successful closure of our Series A-1 round enables us to move ahead more aggressively with our 2012 plans," said Prosperity Organic Foods CEO Meg Carlson. "Now we can introduce Melt, our deliciously natural and health-conscious butter alternative, to butter lovers across the country."

Following a feature in March on the popular Dr. Oz Show, the company was able to accelerate its regional expansion to a national rollout and has secured new distribution in national retailers Whole Foods Market and The Fresh Market and regional market leaders such as Albertsons, H-E-B, Jewel-Osco, Wegmans, and Winn-Dixie along with many local chains who specialize in natural and organic products.

"Our new distribution at these leading retailers allows so many more people in the Midwest, Southwest and on the East Coast to learn about Melt and Honey Melt and satisfy their cravings for butter in a healthier way," said Carlson.

By fall, Melt will be available in nearly half the top 100 metro markets such as Allentown, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boise, Birmingham, Buffalo, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Greensboro, Houston, Jacksonville, Knoxville, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Mobile, Nassau-Suffolk, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia, Portland, Raleigh, Richmond, Rochester, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Scranton, Seattle, Syracuse, Tampa, Toledo, Tulsa and Washington D.C. MSRP is $4.99 for both varieties. Melt is sold in 13-ounce packages, with 80 calories and 9 g of fat per serving.
