Venture Capital News: Overclock Labs Grabs $1.3M Seed Round

2017-11-21
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Overclock Labs today announced it has officially emerged from stealth and closed a $1.3M seed funding round from a number of Silicon Valley angels as well as CrunchFund.
Funding was used to develop DISCO, which automates Cloud Infrastructure orchestration, security, and fault tolerance for global deployments.

Using DISCO, an acronym for Distributed Infrastructure for Serverless Computing Operations, a company can integrate multiple cloud service providers together to reduce costs and increase performance. DISCO allows customers to seamlessly deploy applications between multiple Cloud providers such as Amazon, Google, IBM, Oracle, Rackspace or private clouds at any time, to enjoy the best offerings from all providers.

Companies can use DISCO to create a hybrid cloud and deploy globally in minutes, a process that used to take months for experienced developers to set-up and continuously manage. Disco also utilizes a unique High Density Packaging algorithm which an reduce the amount of servers needed by 15% as well.

Companies that would benefit the most from using DISCO are companies running latency-critical and bandwidth-sensitive jobs, such as:

-AdTech, Media and Gaming companies

-Machine Learning Companies running big data jobs

-Any company who wants to simplify and automate their Cloud Infrastructure

Overclock Labs has used this technology to reduce AWS costs by more than 50% for beta testers and believes it can reduce costs even more if integrated with the right Cloud Service Providers.

Overclock Labs started two years ago with the mission of simplifying how companies set up and manage cloud infrastructure. Overclock Labs plans to open-source Disco in 2018 and will be offering premium services on top of it. You can see a working demo on www.ovrclk.com.
